The Noto Peninsula Earthquake of 2024 occurred on January 1, 2024.
Although Kanazawa City, where our store is located, has suffered damage, daily life is gradually returning to normal.
However, the Noto region of Ishikawa Prefecture, where I was born, has suffered severe damage.
The area where my parents' house is located also experienced a magnitude 7 earthquake, and my own home was completely destroyed.

Power and water supplies are still cut off, and there is no prospect of recovery.

There are countless areas that have suffered severe damage even though the media has not reported on them.

Compared to immediately after a disaster, when media coverage and public attention is likely to be focused on the area, the more time that passes since the disaster, the fewer support resources there are in terms of people, goods, and money available to affected areas.

The reality is that many people give up on rebuilding as their lives become prolonged and difficult.
